transfering my wordpress blog to Builderall

  • I have mistakenly entered my blog domain name before changing the DNS. How do I go back to rectify my mistake

  • Hi @petergooch215650473, can you let us know what page you were on when you entered the blog domain, and also let us know which site this is regarding?

If it’s something on our end we’ll help how we can.

  • I was on the WordPress site builder page. I was simply playing around trying to familiarise myself with Builderall. I have redirected the DNS to point to Builderall, but after almost 24 hours, it is still not connecting. the site name is petegooch.com

  • I’m afraid that your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere. It’s connected to your WordPress.com account with Jetpack.

To manage your domain you’ll want to log in to GoDaddy. If you have trouble with it, you can contact their support team.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:

  • I can confirm that the DNS in Godaddy was changed to
    ns1.l4dns.com
    ns2.l4dns.com
over 24 hours ago now. What advantage is there in contacting WordPress? I need hosting which WordPress did not provide.

  • I may have miss lead in my earlier answer to supernovia’s question.
I was on the Bulderall WordPress 3 click integration page. I entered my domain name, BEFORE changing the DNS settings in Godaddy. The above links etc are all correct.

  • @petergooch215650473 You’ll want to contact your new host for support. These forums are for the sites hosted here on our servers.

And if that does not make sense still, perhaps this page will help?

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

You can use our service, which provides hosting and management, as well as support with paid plans. If you use our service, you would need a business plan to add plugins.

Or, you can buy hosting elsewhere, and set up your own free WordPress installation there. Just note many hosts do not offer WordPress management and support, or they charge extra for it. This is a good option if you want to handle the technical end of things yourself. You also have access to the community here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
