I would like to transfer my subscribers from wordpress.com to a self-hosted site at wordpress.org. I went through the steps listed in on the FAQ and the last step said to get in touch with WordPress and they would transfer my subscribers — can you help me move my subscribers from harvardsportsanalysis.wordpress.com/ to harvardsportsanalysis.org/
The blog I need help with is harvardsportsanalysis.wordpress.com.
If you have not already, please install the Jetpack plugin. I will flag this thread for staff assistance, and they will be able to transfer your subscribers for you. Please subscribe to this thread and they will contact you once the transfer is complete!
Hi, I have a new wordpress website which is on a .com domain – I have imported my blog from wordpress.com – how do I transfer subscribers and stats please. I have looked at the jetpack plugin and there are several, presumably I install this on the new site.
I would like to transfer my subscribers and comment from wordpress.com to a self-hosted site at wordpress.org.
The site I need help with is http://mukundtechie.wordpress.com
- On your self-hosted WordPress site, install the Jetpack plugin, connect it to WordPress.com with your WordPress.com username, and make sure the Subscriptions module is activated.
- Optionally, add the Jetpack Subscriptions widget to your sidebar.
- Optionally, on your WordPress.com site from which you’ll want to transfer your followers, post a notice telling your site’s followers that you’ll be moving, and that their subscriptions will be going along with you. This is because, while your email subscribers will continue to receive email notifications of new posts as before, WordPress.com followers will only see new posts in the Reader. They will not receive email updates unless they subscribe to receive those on your new site, which they can do if you’ve added the Subscriptions widget.
- Once your Jetpack is connected and ready to go, and you’ve informed your readers about your upcoming move, contact us and we’ll move your subscribers for you.
If you need further support, it’s a good idea to start your own thread in the support forum so that issues can be kept separate and questions can be closed once resolved. Come back if you need further help!
Also note on that link I provided above: for transfer between wordpress.com blogs, the process is simpler.
WordPress.com site to WordPress.com site
If you want to move your site’s subscribers and followers over to another WordPress.com site that you own, you can contact us, and we’ll take care of it in a jiffy.
I have already installed jet pack plugin and connected it with my wordpress. My subscription module is enabled but still no luck.
Hi @mukundchaudhary, since you’ve installed jetpack and connected it already, I’ve tagged this thread so that staff can see and transfer your subscribers for you.
(Just in case, though: if you don’t get a response in the next day or two, please start another support thread with this request. This particular thread is about @harvardsportsanalysis‘ query, and it’s always possible your additional question might get lost when their issue is resolved.)
Bottom line: Staff are backlogged. Be patient while waiting and do not hold your breath.
Note that darnelledibbles posted all that was required here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/transferring-subscribers-21?replies=8#post-1463428 Adding the support link is cool http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/ The rest is unrequired.
I am still waiting for staff assistance. Please help me move my subscriber to my self hosted site.
