    Hi,
Really hoping someone out there can help me out in my quest to transfer my URL over to WordPress.
I currently have a Vistaprint blog and website at http://www.skintinthecity.com The blog functionality is proving useless (no facility to add sidebars, pages etc) and so I want to transer the whole lot, ie skintinthe city URL over to WordPress. Already got a WordPress blog, but want to transfer the URL to WordPress here too so that the whole lot is with WordPress.
Basically want to wave bye-bye to Vistaprint forever and make my new home here – can anyone help me?
I have had a look on the Support pages but it’s Double Dutch to me.
    Thanks in advance!
    Ashley

The blog I need help with is skintinthecity.wordpress.com.

The domain registration, is it currently through vistaprint?

Automattic (wordpress) is not a full domain registrar, but currently they are not set up to accept transfer of domains to their service here, but I expect that will be coming soon.

You can edit your DNS settings at vistaprint (if that is where the domain is registered) and then use the domain mapping upgrade here to apply it to your blog here.

    http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

Then later when Automattic has things set up to allow transfer of domain registration, you can transfer it over here.

You also need to export your old blog at Vistaprint and Import into WordPress.COM.

    Ashley,
To get the domain in your name, you will also need to call up our customer service team at 866.811.1674 and they will transfer the registry of the domain to your name.

    Thanks.
