Trouble importing my blog back to WordPress – need to call to talk to someone.
There is no phone support. Please post your details here ie. the size of the export file, the URL you are exporting the content from, and the URL for the wordpress.com blog you are importing into. This thread is falled for Staff attention. Please be patient while waiting.
edit: ” falled” was meant to be “flagged” – sorry :(
What sort of trouble are you running into with the import?
All posts are showing on the dashboard but I can’t get the menu to re-organize correctly? I haven’t even checked to see if my followers are still listed as followers but that may be a problem as well???
btw posts are not showing on the blog at all…
Hi there, the problem with your blog posts not showing is likely because your front page was set to be a static page, instead of displaying your latest blog posts. Since you hadn’t assigned which page it should be, your homepage was giving a “not found” error. I’ve reset your front page to display your latest posts instead. If you do actually want to assign a static page as your homepage, you could try these instructions.

Could you explain a little more about how you’d like your menu to be organized, and then I can have a look at this.
Wow Kathrynwp this is great! You’re great…
I just saw what you did — I had the page running like clockwork until I let someone switch me to his server “better” and off wordpress — not a good move. Now I want to put it back to wordpress.com because i think it is infact want I really want and need.
I spend all weekend frustrated with this site… am even considering starting over with new site but don’t want to lose my followers. Anyways, I don’t want to make the switch until I’m fully running on wordpress. I want my MENU to look just like the menu on http://www.marycarolsullivan.com Can you see it from there?
You are a happiness engineer! <3
Hi Mary Carol – my pleasure. :-)
To get your menu the way you want it, you’ll need to add the pages you want to your Main Menu. Just head over to Appearance > Menus and then click the tab at the top that says “Main Menu”:
Next, select the page(s) you want to add to the menu by checking them off in the box that says Pages, in the left column.
Now, click “Add to Menu” and then click the blue “Save Menu” button.
You can learn more about setting up Custom Menus here:
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks Kathrynwp I will try that this evening! You may have saved my BLOG!
I’m out of the studio tomorrow but will be in touch as soon as possible to let you how I make out!
My pleasure – good luck!
