Trying to create link from homepage posts
Yes, and you will be amazed at how easy it is.
Use the “more” tag: that’s the one that looks like a dotted line across a page in the Visual editor. I think it’s #13 across the top of the Write Post box. Just put the cursor where you want the break and click the icon.
Thanks so much for your reply. I was thrilled to see that there is a tag for doing just this, so I tried it out both on an edit and on a new post, but it didn’t work on either one.
Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? Or could this be a theme issue?
And…while I’m thinking about it…is there a way to, in addition to the “read the rest of this entry”, have a reader click on the image that starts the post to go to the rest of the entry, or only by clicking on the text that says “read the rest of this entry”…
Thank you :)
As far as I’m aware, you can’t use an image. You must use text. But you can edit the text in the HTML editor.
As for “it didn’t work” could you be more specific about the nature of the failure?
“Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?”
Yes: you didn’t check the result on your homepage.
Noted! Thank you very much! :)
