Trying to put columns on the side
Can anyone help me out here? http://www.raykay.wordpress.com
I would love to be able to put a column to the right of my main text (blogroll, archives, about me, etc).
I’m currently using a set template … anyone out there able to help me redesign it so that I can add a column to the right of the text?
Any help would be much appreciated!
You can’t just redesign the templates here. You can select a different template which includes a sidebar. Try looking here to help you choose a suitable one: http://wpthemes1.wordpress.com/about/
I would suggest to just choose another theme that has a sidebar. If the theme you chose doesn’t have a sidebar, not even with the CSS upgrade you’d be able to add one because the underlying code simple doesn’t have a sidebar.
If you want your blog look like your current theme, then you could replicate the design using Sandbox, but you’d need to have some decent CSS knowledge. If you don’t know CSS, then it’s recommended to stay away from the CSS upgrade since there’s no CSS support in these forums.
hi raykay, i had the same problem, but rosclarke is right, when you are looking through the different themes, http://raykay.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php
take note of the description- if it says its a two column theme you can’t have three (boooo!) lol
also take note of which side it is on, if its on the right in the sample, you can’t move it to the other side.
Thanks a lot for the help. I figured that my chances were dim … but it never hurts to ask, right?
*Chances were slim.
Wow. Finals are getting to me.
