Turning an RSS feed from another site into WordPress posts

  • Hello,

I’d like to add an RSS feed from a small social newsite where I post a lot of stories to my WordPress blog. Note I already know how to add an RSS as a widget.

Unfortunately, the site doesn’t have an “add to WordPress” option yet, but I’d like my postings to somehow show up as a post, so every time I submit an article to the social networking site, it automatically shows up as a post on WordPress.

    Can this be done?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi. In order for us to give you accurate advice, we need the URL of your blog starting with http://

  • This is specifically disallowed here at WordPress.com. It is a classic spammer technique to populate a blog, and the designers of WP.com want it used as a host for original blog posts, not as an aggregator. You will not be able to do it this way; you MAY be able to post it first on WordPress.com and then draw it into the other site via RSS.

This is, of course, terrible for the SEO of both blogs. Duplicated material will cause search engines to viciously downgrade both sites.

  • ~~raincoaster… Easier to answer than I thought then ;-)

  • WordPress.com is not an aggregator. It’s JUST blogging software. Once people understand that, they have more realistic expectations.
