Twenty Eleven Tagline Size, Post Page Ephemera Colors

    Hello…

    I’m learning CSS and have the upgrade (and custom fonts, too). I was making changes last night, and was one of those caught in the “preview works, but it doesn’t show on website” issue, and though I think I had much of it right in some places, I’m now so gunshy I’m afraid to try again, and I’m asking for help.

    Tagline – I’d like to make that a bit bigger. How do I do that?

    Blog post and page font colors – how do I change them? I thought I had it through “event” and “page” but I guess not. (When I click on “A Blogwarming” so I’m on that blog post, I want that font color not to be black, and all others that I write. The same with “Learning To Be Me In Time” and any other page I create. – In other words, all “titles” or “headings” I write. )

    The Ephemera – is it possible to change the font color (face, too?) for “Aside” “Quote” etc?

    Finally… I tried so many things last night when it wasn’t working – is it possible to delete at least some of those zillion CSS revisions that I see on my page?

    And… THANK YOU to designsimply, thesacredpath, and timethief. As I searched and searched, I keep seeing your names and advice. Thank you for being so helpful. I’m sure there are others, too, but you three… I actually felt the hyperventilating stop when I saw your responses.

    Thank you!!

    The blog I need help with is sensuousinkspiller.com.

    Do you want all of your text, including your headers and body text, to be the same color, just not black? or just the body text? I’m a little confused on what you’re looking for there.

    This would be the CSS to change just the body text, not the headers:
    body, input, textarea {
    color: red;
    font: 300 15px/1.625 “Helvetica Neue”,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;
    }

    What specifically do you want to change with your ephemera? Is this something you want to do JUST for ephemera or globally?

    To increase the size of your tagline:

    #site-description {
    color: #7A7A7A;
    font-size: 14px; <—- make larger
    margin: 0pt 270px 3.65625em 0pt;
    }

    I should point out that I changed the color in the body area to red – that’s the place you would put your own color. I just forgot to note that before I posted.

    Making progress! :D

    I got the page font color working correctly for page titles through this post – thank you!

    And then all the other fonts through this post – thank you! (Which I’m sure captured the page title, too…)

    How can I change the font color for “Leave a reply”?

    And I still can’t figure out if I can make the tagline font larger.

    And… if people think the text color is too light (in my posts and their replies), how do I make just that darker?

    Thank you!!

    @jackiedana – that is perfect, thank you so much!! You even answered a question I hadn’t yet asked, about the text only!

    What I was hoping to change is all the ephemera tag words themselves “Aside” “Quote” etc – the font face and color as they show on a page above a post (not the sidebar stuff…)

    Thank you!!

    And found the “Leave a Reply” changes here!

    I can (mostly) mark this resolved, the only remaining question is if it is possible to delete some of the extraneous CSS revisions I did last night.

    Thank you!

    Nice sleuthing!

    Tagline – I’d like to make that a bit bigger. How do I do that?

    To make the tagline bigger in the Twenty Eleven theme, add this to your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS page:

    #site-description {
    	font-size: 24px;
    }

    Adjust the number as necessary.
