Twenty Eleven theme – sidebar not showing on iPad/mobile device
By default, we turn on the “Minileven” theme when your site is viewed with a mobile device. It’s a special theme designed to make blogs easier to read on mobile devices. Sidebars are meant to appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.
You ran into the same issue when you turned off the mobile theme for your blog that’s running Twenty Eleven, because the Twenty Eleven theme has a “responsive width”. This means the the layout adapts depending on the size of the device you use to view your site. Like Minileven, Twenty Eleven also displays sidebars below the post content when viewed on smaller screens. We use the “responsive-width” tag on our Showcase to indicate which themes have this feature.
Your blog http://cupcakesandcurls.wordpress.com is running the Koi theme, which was not designed to be responsive. This means that the layout does not change based on the device size.
I hope this helps. Let us know if I can explain further or if you have any other questions.
Yes this does help…I didn’t know what “responsive width” meant. Thanks so much!
