Twenty-Fourteen Theme - Default color scheme with new accent colors

  1. Hi,
    I would like to use the default color scheme on Twenty-Fourteen theme, however, would like to be able to change the two green accent colors to another color. How can I do this without changing the default?

    The blog I need help with is

  2. Hi there, it looks like you were able to change the accent colors at Appearance > Customize > Colors to a blue color. Did this accomplish what you wanted?

  3. No, when I changed the accent colors to blue, the default changed by removing some of the black background - specifically under the three posts along the top. It went to a light gray. So I moved it back to default where the accent colors are now green again. I'd like to keep the black background throughout as originally set up in default but just change the two green accent colors to blue.

  4. Ok, switch back to the default and then we can work out the CSS to change the greens to your choice of blue.

  5. It is switched back to the default now.
    The colors I'd like for the accents are (in order) #005A96 and #003B6A.
    Thank you!

  6. Alright, I just chose a couple blues from my color wheel (for hover and non-hover that you can edit as you see fit. Give the following a try and make sure and look around and make sure I didn't miss any green hiding in a corner. :)

    .search-toggle {
        background-color: #0065cc;
    .search-toggle:hover, .search-toggle:active {
        background-color: #0100cc;
    .site-navigation .current_page_item > a, .site-navigation .current_page_ancestor > a, .site-navigation .current-menu-item > a, .site-navigation .current-menu-ancestor > a {
        color: #0065cc;
    .primary-navigation li:hover > a, .primary-navigation li:active > a {
        background-color: #0065cc;
    .content-sidebar .widget a {
        color: #0065cc;
