TwentyFourteen: Featured images are being stretched, loosing resolution

    I am using this css code to make my Twenty14 page adapting to any screens, especially the large ones:

    /*Page is full width:*/
    #page {
    	width: 100%;
    	max-width: 100%;
    }

    .post-thumbnail img {
    	width: 100%;
    }

    #site-header, #site-header img, .site-header {
    	width: 100%;
    	max-width: 100%;
    }

    But I noticed that my featured images are being stretched to fit wider screens. The resolution of the images deteriorates.

    If I upload larger images, the Theme scales them down to its ideal size and then stretches them to accommodate my css.

    Is it possible that the Theme handles uploaded featured images differently, so that the resolution doesn’t deteriorate? – Ideally we always see the entire picture in perfect resolution, no cropping, no stretching.

    This solution should work for the featured posts (on the home page) as well as the featured images.

    Thank you!

    The blog I need help with is dubbedperceptions.com.

    Hi there, to change the size that the theme creates for a featured image, would require editing of the theme php script files, and we can’t do that at WordPress.com. It isn’t something we can change with CSS.

    Thank you!
    Good to know! I won’t have to search for solutions anymore.

    You have been helping me out a lot with my page! And your advice was always spot on! And if I think of it, you sit in Hawaii and me in Switzerland. Sometimes… imagining these connections puts a smile on my face…

    You are welcome.

    And if I think of it, you sit in Hawaii and me in Switzerland. Sometimes… imagining these connections puts a smile on my face…

    Indeed, it does the same for me, Hynek. And as always, if you have additional questions or problems, just let us know.
