Can someone please help me? I’ve repeatedly tried to add the Twitter timeline to my wordpress blog, and I have not been able to add it properly. I already created the widget at Twitter and I have copied the html code, I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I would like to add it to my sidebar. Please let me know…
I would greatly appreciate it,
The blog I need help with is zinahermez.wordpress.com.
Have you managed to display it on the site? If you can embed the widget on the site, even if it shows nothing / an error, that might help people here check what’s wrong.
Paste the exact code you are trying to use here, between backticks. You’re not supposed to use the code Twitter gives you. You are supposed to use this code:
[twitter-timeline id=1234 username=yourhandle]
If you use the Twitter code it will fail, as you have noticed.
Thanks you guys! But I just tried the other way that you mentioned, I used this code above: [twitter-timeline id=1234 username=yourhandle] and I entered my specific ID from my Twitter widget along with my handle that just read, ZinaHermez (with no @ symbol). I was still not able to add it to my sidebar. It does add something, but all it is, is a headline that says, “Follow me on Twitter” with the words, “My Tweets” underlined beneath that. It is not showing the full twitter timeline with blue, white color, and previous tweets or anything like that. Do you have any other suggestions?
Thank you much!
What, EXACTLY, are you putting in the widget? I am assuming as well that your Twitter feed is not locked down. If it is, WordPress can’t access it.
If I lock my twitter feed, does that mean it is not public and that I have to approve followers before they can follow me?
Please let me know.
