Two different sets of stats

    Hi again, I’ve been doing some poking around on my site, and found a folder at http://www.meandmydiy.com/meandmydiy.com-redirect

    it contains two files: blank.html and index.html

    blank.html is an empty file.
    index.html contains the following html:

    <html>
    <FRAMESET border=’0′ ROWS=’*,1′>
    <FRAME SRC=’http://www.meandmydiy.com/index.php’>
    <FRAME SRC=’blank.html’>
    </FRAMESET>
    </html>

    In the root directory is another file at: http://www.meandmydiy.com/index.php which contains:

    <?php
    /**
    * Front to the WordPress application. This file doesn’t do anything, but loads
    * wp-blog-header.php which does and tells WordPress to load the theme.
    *
    * @package WordPress
    */

    /**
    * Tells WordPress to load the WordPress theme and output it.
    *
    * @var bool
    */
    define(‘WP_USE_THEMES’, true);

    /** Loads the WordPress Environment and Template */
    require(‘./blog/wp-blog-header.php’);

    My guess is that these files may have something to do with the issue I’m having. At this point, I realize this may be a Fatcow issue, and if I need to just redirect this back to them, please say so. I feel like you’ve already put a lot of time into this and it may not be a WP issue. On the other hand, if the solution is obvious to you, please let me know. I am comfortable with modifying, moving, creating files, etc., so I can do whatever’s necessary. Thanks again for your help.

    There are also a couple of .htaccess files:

    http://www.meandmydiy.com/blog/.htaccess:

    # BEGIN WordPress

    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /blog/
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /blog/index.php [L]
    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress

    and http://www.meandmydiy.com/.htaccess

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ – [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress

    Heard back from Fatcow again. This was in response to my earlier question about why it happened. Here’s their response:

    There was a misconfiguration for Site & Home URL of your WordPress site, which defined in the ‘wp-config.php’ file. However, we’ve fixed the issue by disabling the line in your config file, since both Site & Home URL have already been updated under ‘wp_options’ table of your WordPress database ‘wrd_jlnd27m4h4’.

    Hi!

    Ok, let’s try to get this set up right once and for all :)

    A few things first (before doing anything though, might I suggest taking a full backup of your site files and db? Ask Fatcow if you’re not sure how):

    1) This folder and the files in it should be safe to delete: http://www.meandmydiy.com/meandmydiy.com-redirect
    2) you should be able to safely delete this file as well (or, if there’s more than the WordPRess sections in this file, just delete the WordPress section): http://www.meandmydiy.com/.htaccess
    3) we should make WordPress regenerate the htaccess file (found in the /blog/ installation directory) by going to Settings->Permalinks, and then click “Save Changes”
    4) make sure one last time that SiteURL is set to http://meandmydiy.com/blog and that HomeURL is set to http://meandmydiy.com

    Since you don’t actually have any content at the /blog/ directory (only the installation files), it’s normal to get a server-generated 404 error there, I was mistaken to think that we’d be redirected.

    Once you’ve done these steps, and your site works as expected, then welll finally get to fixing your starts and subscribers!

    What a saga this has been! :)

    Okay Richard, I’ve done everything you said. By the way, I have BlogVault, so no worries. The only thing that bothers me (a little), and this is mostly vanity, but all my Pin counts are off. One of my posts had over 12K pins, and now it’s back down to just a few dozen. I guess it’s a little thing, really. Just an annoyance more than anything. That said, I DO appreciate all your help. I know you’ve put more time in on this than one should expect, and it is very very much appreciated. So I think we’re good to go as far as combining the stats. Let me know if you need me to do anything else toward that end. Thanks again!

    Hi!

    Ok, so your site appears to be working alright for me, so I have gone ahead and merged your stats:

    https://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/?blog=41033405

    We have lost 3 days though, unfortunately.

    I have also migrated your subscribers from your old blog_id to the new one.

    As for your pins count, I have no idea about that, sorry. :(

    If anything seems out of place, let me know and we’ll check it out some more! :)

    Richard, you’re the best. Thanks a bunch. I’ll definitely let you know if I come across anything wacky. You really are a Happiness Engineer. :) Have a wonderful weekend.

    Awww…I’m tickled to hear that! It’s not often I get to show a techie something they don’t already know. :)

    Hey, guess what? I figured something out and thought I’d pass it on for future reference. I noticed today when I went to comment on someone’s post, that CommentLuv wasn’t able to find any posts on my site, when it had been previously. So then I got to thinking about the ‘www’ thing and whether it should have been included in the mods we made to wp-config (I had asked about it above). I went back and changed it to include the www, and now not only are my posts showing up in CommentLuv again, but my Pin counts are back. Yay! Thought you might appreciate knowing, in case something like that comes up again. Thanks again for all your help. So glad to have all my stats back in one place again. Have a great weekend.

    Hi!

    That is a good thing to know! Some services don’t care about the www, but I guess that some do! Thanks for the info, and I’m glad you worked it out! Have a great week!
