When I post a blog post and have an image, two copies of the same image appears instead of just the one that I entered.

The blog I need help with is trustyah.com.

    Hi –

If you go back and edit the posts you can remove the extra image that was inserted.

Take a look at A Prayer for Marriage. I removed the duplicate ring picture from the bottom of the post. Is this what you were needing help with?

    Hi,
Thank you for your response. I don’t think it is working correctly.

If you look at the post for “A prayer for Marriage” both images of the rings are gone. I just added the word “LOVE” only once for my most recent post of 1 Corinthians 13- The love chapter and it added it twice.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you,
    Cindy

    Hi @cindy,

I have an idea I’d like you to test. In your post The Love Chapter, delete the top “Love” picture within your post’s composer window but keep the “Love” picture set as the post’s featured image on the right-side column. What happens then?

I ask you to test that because when I view the source code of the page, one image on that post is a featured image and one is within the post, even though they’re the same image.

    Best,
    Jesse

    Hi Jesse,

Thank you for the email. I edited my post and deleted the “one” LOVE image. In doing so, it deletes both of them.

I am unsure of what my composer window verses my featured image is. I only inserted one image and it comes up as just one image until I post it and go back into it and there are two images. If I delete the one image, it deletes both of them. This is why most of my posts have two pictures exactly the same.

    I can’t figure it out.

    Thank you for any help.

    Hi Jesse,

I just added wedding rings to “A Prayer for Marriage.” I inserted one image. I viewed the post and it shows only one image. I updated the post and when I go to the website to see how it looks it has two images.

    Thanks,
    Cindy

    Cindy –

Can you grab a screen shot of what you’re seeing on the site? If you add those to your media library I will be able to take a look at them.

Yes, I added the two screenshots of the two images of lOVE and the wedding rings in my media library. I hope I did it correctly.
    Thank you.

Today I tried an experiment. I took the one image that was showing and I reduced it as small as it would go so that it is a tiny box. You can still see it on the right-hand side of the screen above the letters. So actually now there are still two images on the screen, but only one can be seen without close observation. I guess for now it is a quick fix but I would prefer to have it corrected.

    Thank you for any advice.

oops…correction the tiny box in on the left-hand side, not the right.

    Hi Cindy,

That’s a good temporary workaround! When staff can revisit this issue, your workaround should become a thing of the past. Thank you for waiting while they figure out what’s causing the odd behavior.

    Best,
    Jesse

    Good morning –

The duplicate image is by design in the Baskerville 2 theme. There’s a setting to uncheck that will remove the duplicate though.

I’ve added some screen shots here for reference: https://cloudup.com/iZ7qkIvRisa

Go to My Sites > Customize > Content Options …. It’s the very last option under Featured Images that you want to uncheck.
