Unable to add my own domain
The add Domain name is not working as there are no prompts to follow, I purchased http://www.ltc.uk.net and would like this as my blog address.
I went to store / domain names in my control panel and typed in http://www.ltc.uk.net and clicked the add domain to blog button but after that nothing happened and I don’t know where I am going wrong.
The blog I need help with is pastimehobbyist.wordpress.com.
I get the following messge
Other subdomains of this domain are registered to another user at WordPress.com so you can’t use it for your site. Only that user can register other subdomains.
I seem to have found the problem which was caused by the site my domain name is registered with, so hopefully it will be resolved within 48 hours.
Also were you using these instructions?
Yes I was, however the problem was not of my doing. When I telephoned the company I purchased the domain name from they said there was an unexplained error and they would have to change the domain names DNS servers manually from their end.
Now I just have to wait for that to take effect, then I can add my domain name.
Now I am getting the following error when I try to add the domain to my blog.
“Other subdomains of this domain are registered to another user at WordPress.com so you can’t use it for your site. Only that user can register other subdomains.”
Doe this mean the previous owner of the domain has mapped it to his wordpress blog and if so where does that leave me?
Problem resolved by buying a dot co dot uk domain. In future I will be staying away from third level domains.
