She might be behind a firewall or other security that does not allow access to her WP.com dashboard. What browser and version is she using, and has she performed the Cookie Dance (log out, delete browser cache and cookies, do a forced reload)? Can she try to log in from a different computer?
I am also not able to log in from the front page of wordpress, but can log in from the forum page and from a blog where I have to sign in to view it-that’s how I’ve been logging in for the past 2 days. I’ve done all the deleting cookies and restarting etc. – I only get the cannot find server page and this started early Thursday.
