Undeleting a deleted post

    I recently posted my post to Facebook and it came up twice so i deleted the one that looked older. As it turned out the one I deleted was the fully written blog and the one I left was a blank page. My question is can I undelete my post from WordPress? I tried to from Facebook but it can’t be done there. I really don’t want to have to redo it all over again. When I click on draft all I’m getting is the first 2 lines of the post. Please can you help me?

    The problem is that I didn’t delete it from WordPress … I deleted it from Facebook. As far as I know there is way to retrieve it once it’s been deleted from Facebook. I just thought that maybe there was a way to retrieve it in WordPress. There is nothing in my trash. Here’s what Happened … I started writing a post and then I previewed it and when I went back to continue it took me to a different area and I just started over. I finished the post and hit publish and share with facebook. Then there were 2 posts on Facebook so I deleted one thinking it was that first one that only had one or two lines in it but I found out later that when my friend went to read my blog there was nothing there. So I must have deleted the completed post. I was sick. I would really like to get it back if there was some way to do that.

    If it’s not in your drafts in your dashboard and there is no post revision you can restore http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/ then you are hooped.

    Well it was the one I expected … but I hoped for a better one … It was totally my fault I should have opened them up to see what was what before I arbitrarily deleted one. Lesson learned … I will just have to rewrite it and I figure the second time around will probably be better any way. Thanks for your help I appreciate it.

    If and only if the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needs be.

    But if the post was created here http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ there is no means of recovery as the auto-save is not functioning there.

    Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
    Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
    The auto-save works there and the post will be Standard post format unless you change it.

    Do not create posts here > http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ where the auto-save is not working and where you are creating an Aside post format.

    Use an offline blog editor so you have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/
