Uninstall theme and start from scratch
Yes it’s me…again! I want to uninstall my theme and start all over again. All of the support documents that I’ve found on this topic thus far relate to WordPress.org. Does anyone have a link that would help me with this? I still want to use “Forever” but I believe I need to start all over from scratch and want to forget all settings. I’ve already tried to switch to another theme, but when I returned to Forever, the same settings were there, naturally. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is artefactdezign.com.
If you are referring to the free hosted WordPress.com blog linked to your username simply go here > Appearance > Themes and slect another theme and activate it. If Forever is the theme that’s already on the blog then it will not show up in the blogs to slect as it’s already on the blog. The thenme on the blog is stated here > Appearance > Themes at the top of the page. If what you are concerned about is this message on your front page the reason it;s there is because you deleted the Hello World placeholder post and when you actually publish a post and not a page it will disappear.
“Hi there. You seem to be lost. It looks like nothing was found at this location. Perhaps it was there but now it’s gone. Maybe try one of the links below or a search?”
P.S. Never rely on WordPress.org insformation. It does not apply to free hosted WordPress.com blogs as we run on different software. On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/ The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page.
I apologize for the typos above. I’m visually challenged and I failed to use my app to correct errors before I clicked submit.
Hi timethief, thanks for your reply. I’m don’t want to use WordPress.org info. Once I saw that it was WordPress.org, I stopped reading. I want to start all over again. I have already tried using another theme and then returning to Forever, but it remembers what I had already done. I want it to forget like Men in Black. I want to start from scratch. Is this possible? I looked at the live demo the other day but it doesn’t really help me with this issue of wanting to start from scratch. If that’s not possible then I just have another issue. Then I would be sad!
The problem that I’m having seems too complicated to type as I don’t think it would translate, that’s why I just wanted to start from scratch. I actually spent a few hours going thru the tutorial over the weekend and learned a lot. The tutorial is great and the forums are great, BTW. I’m just at a loss with this particular issue…
P.S. the typos are forgiven. I have much bigger fish to fry. lol!!

The software does recall what we entered previously. You cannot change that. Changing themes does not every result in loss of any actual content we created. To start from scratch using the same theme ie. Forever you can delete the pages you created and then start creating content. If you would like to delete an existing page, click Pages -> All Pages on the left menu. Under the page you’d like to delete, click on the delete link.
Also if you would simply state what yopu wish to achieve using the Forever theme then we will point to the relevant information so you can achieve it.
Theme information Forever > http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/forever/
live demo site Forever > http://foreverdemo.wordpress.com/
Forever forum threads > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/forever
Curses. Well I’ve already deleted pages which is where the problem started. So this is what I want.
Home Page to be the static page. I want the words “Art. Fashion. Life.” written in the middle of the page as if its the tagline. I do realize that static pages cannot contain tagline; a fellow poster was nice enough to give me a code to fake that part & it worked but now I can no longer locate that page. I’ve just made a mess.
I only want the title of each page to appear in the tab right underneath the site title ARTEFACT DEZIGN. I do not want the title to appear again in the middle left hand corner as it does here http://artefactdezign.com/artefact-shoes. I’ve gone thru the demo and can’t figure that part out.
I deleted the original theme pages and I believe that’s where my troubles began. So I’m a little screwy.
I enjoy the the tutorial as I like to learn things on my own. I’m just finding that its not helping me with this particular issue that I seemed to cause myself. Ugh!
I hope this makes sense. Thanks…
Ahh, I’m just gonna switch themes. I’ve been playing around with some more. Forever is beautiful, but it’s giving me a permanent headache. ;-) Thanks for all of your help!
Switching to a different theme won’t change the fact that static pages normally display the page title at the “middle left hand corner”. If you don’t want this, see here:
Ok thank you..
