Unregister an expired domain name

I started a blog on WordPress and paid for a domain name then decided to move to Blogger and paid for a re-direction from this domain name to my new one.

The WordPress domain name has now expired but I can’t use it as a custom domain on Blogger yet. Is there any way I can unregister the blog domain name rather than waiting for it to get put back in the register?

Please help, losing traffic and visitors due to this!

The blog I need help with is january-sublime.blogspot.com.

It can take 60 to 90 days for a name to revert to the wild and you run the risk of a squatter holding the name hostage.

You should have renewed the name and then changed the name servers to blogger or transferred the domain name to another registrar

If I renew the subscription to the name, how can I change the name server to blogger so that I don’t have to renew it via wordpress again? I’d rather stick to blogger and become independent of wordpress.

How do I go about changing the name server or transferring the domain name to blogger and is it free?
