Unresponsive script on wordpress.com

When I navigate to wordpress.com in my web browser, Firefox 47.0.1, and am taken to the blogs and posts control panel the site layout loads fine, but after that the browser becomes unresponsive for a moment and I get the following message:

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script continue.

    Script: https://wordpress.com/calypso/…on.129bf3b9a08e38373afe.min.js:17

If I choose to wait for the script to finish, it never gets there. If I choose to terminate it, the site loads improperly, lacking all the stats for example. Most of the links, the ones that lead to different functionalities for maintaining blogs in the left navigation pane, do not work.

In addition the site is very slow and pain to use due to the sluggishness.

This does not seem to be a random issue, because it has bugged me for two days now.

The blog I need help with is havaintojapaavovayrysesta.wordpress.com.

If I disable scripts on wp.com but leave those on wordpress.com running, I get normal functionality without stats. If I allow scripts on wp.com, the site loads fine until I go to stats screen.

So the stats seem to be the issue here. FireBug stops at the script mentioned above. I have tried this with adblocker Adguard and noScript disabled, to no result.

I was having the same issue and switched to chrome, where I haven’t had any issues. I believe this glitch is related to the Firefox update a few days ago as my problems started right after that.

Works fine on Chrome, version 51.0.2704.103 m. Probably Firefox-specific, maybe due to extension. Will test it out.

Hey thanks for reply, magenta444. I would not have the energy to migrate to Chrome completely now, but I do always have it as a second browser, since things sometimes work quite weird on Firefox.

So if it’s not due to an extension, then there’s nothing I can do. I hope this gets resolved quite quickly.

Confirmed: Not caused by add-on. Confirmed by using Firefox in Safe mode, which disables all add-ons and extensions temporarily.
