Unwanted Ads on Posts

  1. Hi, fairly new to Word Press. I've been browsing through some of my recipe posts and noticed unwanted advertisements on them. How did they get there and how do I get rid of them?! If you search in my blog for "Alfredo Style Baked Shells with Peas, Parmesan and Pancetta", scroll to the bottom of the recipe post and some "thinkalbeta" advertisement shows up. Please help. How do I stop this and how do I get rid of it? Thank you.

  2. Hello there,
The only way to get rid of all advertising on our free hosted blogs is to purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade. has been running advertising on our free hosted blogs since 2006. Many bloggers do not know this because despite the fact they ticked the box required to get a free blog, they did not read the ToS. Many also do not read features page, or advertising entry in the support documents after registering their username and blog(s). Also note that as the ads do not display to us when we are logged in, and as many use browsers with ad blockers when logged out, they may not realize they are there at all.

  3. Thank you timethief for your help. I thought ads would be on the side of the blog, not in the middle of one of my blog posts! That's quite invasive and Blogger does not do this!! I guess perhaps I need to consider moving my blog to Blogger!!

  4. Thanks for your Question, BakersBeans. It was just the moment I had the same question. Interesting about Blogger.

Somehow a Youtube posting (ad?) popped up on my blog immediately following my last post. It looks as if I posted it and I can't figure out if it's legitimately placed by WordPress or if the site has been compromised somehow. Some of the content on the changing videos is a bit racy, not at all related to the posts themselves. Just wondered if I should be concerned or is this one of those inconspicuous ads that I DID read about in the ToS? Any thoughts, anyone?

  6. Hello there,
Will you three bloggers please take screenshots and contact Staff? Here’s the link After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

  7. To support the service (and keep free features free), we sometimes run advertisements, and the agreement for this has been in our terms of service since 2006.

We try hard to only run them in limited places. If you would like to completely eliminate ads from appearing on your blog, we offer the No-Ads Upgrade:

If you find the contact of an ad to be inappropriate, please send a screenshot with details to [email redacted]
