A wholly inappropriate ad for my site has appeared on my current post page–My site is for cancer survivors. I don’t need YOU TUBE videos showing up on the page. I tried to find the “upgrade to no ads” in the store and couldn’t locate it. HELP! I don’t want these ads–they’re horrible.

The blog I need help with is writingthroughcancer.com.

Found it. Upgraded to no – ads. Whew.

WordPress.com has been running advertising on our free hosted blogs since 2006. Many bloggers do not know this because despite the fact they ticked the box required to get a free blog, they did not read the ToS. http://en.wordpress.com/tos/ Many also do not read features page, http://wordpress.com/features/ or advertising entry http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/ in the support documents after registering their username and blog(s). Also note that as the ads do not display to us when we are logged in, and as many use browsers with ad blockers when logged out, they may not realize they are there at all.

The only way to get rid of all advertising on our free hosted WordPress.com blogs is to purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/no-ads/

I tried to find the “upgrade to no ads” in the store and couldn’t locate it.

My store shows three rows of options and this is the middle item in the second row.

oops! We were typing at the same time. It’s good to know you accomplished this. Happy blogging!
