Upcoming Events widget and shortcode truncate event descriptions
I’ve just noticed the new Upcoming Events widget and shortcode, and I think it’s a great idea, however, I have two questions:
1. The Description field appears to be limited to 62 characters, whether I use the widget in my sidebar or the shortcode on a page. My descriptions aren’t very large, so I don’t know why they need to be truncated. Very inconvenient.
2. Even with “all” events selected, only one event is being displayed. Does it only go so far into the future to display events? To me, selecting “All” events should show all events, or selecting 10 should show me the next 10 events, regardless of how far into the future they go. If that assumption is incorrect, I think it should be documented in the support page for the widget.
I have a private blog that I use to test new widgets before I post them to my real blog, so I can’t show you what I mean. I am using the Sight theme and Firefox browser.

My blog is hosted at wordpress.com, however I will not use this shortcode/widget if it’s going to truncate my event descriptions. My test blog is private, so including the URL will not help you.
If others are not having this problem, then I know it’s my theme’s fault (or possibly Google). If everyone is having this problem, then it’s the widget’s fault. Can’t imagine why truncated event descriptions would be useful to anyone.
