Upcoming Events widget lists wrong times

  1. The way the code was updated this shouldn't matter - but please do let me know if you run into another error.

I'm so happy this has resolved for you!

  2. In my widget the times mentioned twice: see left column in

    Google has all ok:

    Can you help please ?

    Time Zone: +8 Taipei

  4. @azsoftmatter,

After a little testing, it looks like the widget will display this way because of how you have your date format set up: l, F j, Y, G:i

You can find this setting in Dashboard > Settings > General:

I'm not sure we could format the widget in a way to request it not to show what you've instructed your site to show, if that makes sense? You should find that if you modify the date format to not show the hour/minutes, you'll not see them on your widget; only the duration of the event (13:00 - 14:00, in the case of the first one).

    I hope that's helpful!

  5. @cyanhaze,

I can't see a problem with your widget, could you be more specific?

  6. Hi,
Is there a way to change the widget so that the event title is bold and at the top instead of the location?

  7. The problem is the "time" is not match in google calender.

At the right side of our page:
    March 8, 2013 at 3:00 AM – 5:00 AM
    Regular Meeting #001
    March 15, 2013 at 3:00 AM – 5:00 AM
    Regular Meeting #002

    where 3:00 AM – 5:00 AM Should be 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM

We also face the same problem.

  8. Hi @aljsweb,

This is currently something under consideration, but not yet implemented.

    Sorry for the inconvenience!

  9. I am having the same problem that other have previously mentioned. The ical feed in the Upcoming Events widget is showing events 4 hours earlier than on my google calendar. I have set the Google calendar to GMT + 0. I have deleted the widget, cleared the history, cache and cookies in my browser (Chrome), and re-enabled the widget. Has there been any resolution?
    Site is:
thank you for your help with this!

  10. skateamherstburg

When I had this issue previously I had to set my wordpress timezone to UTC and then my google calendar to GMT+0 and I think it took a little bit for everything to sync up before the times matched. Not sure if this information helps you at all. I hope it does.

  11. Hi there,

To the users having problems syncing their widget with their calendars: I also recommend @skateamherstburg's suggestion of resetting BOTH your blog and your calendar to UTC/GMC+0 and then once they properly sync, you should be able to restore your correct timezones.

  12. I've tried resetting the Upcoming Event plugin and the Google calendar as described, and I'm still having the same problem. It's a bit different though, in that only events that occur on Mondays are syncing incorrectly. Most often, these are full-day events--I wonder if that makes a difference? Is there something I could do to the Google calendar events to make them sync better with this plugin?

  13. Having incorrect time displayed with widget. Event in Google calendar is 10am-12pm and widget shows 5am-7am.

  14. Attempted some of what I have seen in this thread and now I have the same event listed twice, one incorrect and the second correct?? Cannot get rid of double event listing even after removing widget, clearing cache and reloading.

  15. Hi Lisa and Motormaniablog, can you post URLs to a page with your widget?

It seems to be limited to events that are all-day events. Events with specific times are displaying correctly.

The second event listing (which was correct) is now gone leaving incorrect event listing. My event has a specific time frame not an all day event. I changed event time in Google Calendar to see if widget would pick it up and it did matter the time entered for the event, the widget dispays 5am-7am.

  18. Hi there,

We are currently looking into the "all day" issue, and we are continuing to work on the offset time issue. I hope to have more information for you soon!

  19. Hello, my wordpress site has the upcoming events widget and the spelling and spacing is off for the events but correct in Google. Please see right hand side:

  20. cflprinclub - could you please start a new thread for your issue, and add the word modlook in the Tags section in the right column so Staff will respond.

  21. same problem here. upcoming events widget not displaying correct time.

times are about 6 hours ahead.

  22. Mine just isn't syncing *at all* and it's driving me batty - I've been documenting my struggles to get it to work in my own thread for two weeks, but no joy :/

  23. Eddie,

Go to Dashboard, Settings, General - and check timezone, that should fix it.

  24. Hi eddiecarrizles, cflprinclub and anastubs, if you are still experiencing this issue, could you please start a new thread for your issue, and add the word modlook in the Tags section in the right column so that we can take of you. Thanks!

  25. You mean, apart from my existing thread tagged with modlook???

  26. anastubbs - one thread for your issue is fine - thanks for your patience.

  27. Ok, thanks, I was just a little worried after that response :)

  28. Ok. I started a new thread and put modlook as the tag.

  29. The upcoming events widget has been updated to fix the problem where recurring events weren't being displayed with the wrong time. Sorry for the trouble!

If you're still having any trouble, please start a new help request because this thread is very long and has multiple issues.
