upgrade less than a month before renewal, what will renewal charge be?

  • My Premium plan is set to auto-renew on February 13, 2018 – 21 days from today.

If I upgrade to the Business plan today (January 24, 2018) the price to upgrade shows $201 even though the annual cost of the Business plan is $300.

So, if I upgrade today and pay the $201, when will I be billed again and how much will it be? Will I be billed something on the February 13th of 2018? Will I have a new annual renewal date of January 24th?

Trying to understand when and how much my renewal will be because I’m upgrading so close to the renewal date.

THANKS in advance for any help!!

  • Hi Julie –

I can make sure that the new plan retains the old expiration date (the February one). You are correct in that only the difference between the 2 plans is going to be collected for the upgrade.

Write back to me if you have any other questions.

  • lizkarkoski,
Thanks for your reply! Either expiration date is fine.

I think my question was unclear when I asked when I would be billed again and how much will it be. If I upgrade today, will the renewal be in 2019?
I just don’t want to pay the $201 upgrade fee now and then be charged $300 on February 13, 2018 to renew my 3 week old business plan.

  • After doing some more research through the forum, I decided to upgrade and I paid the $201.

I’m assuming that I’ll be charged $99 on February 13, 2018 and then I’ll be charged $300 to renew the business plan in 2019? Can you confirm?

  • Hi again –

You’re only going to be charged the $201 for the first year of the plan. Does that help? Remember that you already paid us $99 earlier, so this counts towards the upgrade.

  • But I paid the $99 a year ago (minus three weeks).

Does that mean I won’t be billed again until February 13, 2018 for $300? That’s nearly a $100 discount for the next 12 months. Is that right?

I’m trying to understand when I will be billed again and for how much.

  • I mean 2019. Obviously, I’m still confused. :D

  • Yes, that’s right :) This is why it’s a good deal to upgrade before your plan expires.

  • WOW! That’s excellent news! Thanks for your replies!

As a side note, I think I’m really going to like the Business Plan. Although my site completely whacked out after I upgraded – raw code showing on every [display-post] page (I use a lot of those), css showed errors it didn’t show before, stopped working its magic in some places and changed things in others, some widgets reverted back to a previous state from months before and some completely disappeared and had to be recreated – BUT I had an EXCELLENT Happiness Engineer help me via online support chat and after two hours, everything was back to normal.

    THANKS again!

  • Hi pragmaticcommunication,

It’s great to hear our Happiness Engineers were a big help :) It looks like you worked through these issues over Live Chat but don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need any further help.

  • Hi, This is helpful information. I currently have the Personal plan and my renewal is in April. I see that the price for the Premium plan is currently being offered at a special rate of $4.00 per month, same price as the personal plan. If I want to upgrade now to the Premium plan, would this mean that I will not be charge anything until the renewal date? Thanks! Pedro
