    Hi there – the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org is where your site is hosted. Your site is hosted here on WordPress.com for free and you’ve purchased a number of upgrades for additional functionality.

    If you want to move to a self-hosted (.org) WordPress site, you’d need to first pick a web hosting provider, and purchase hosting from them. Then, you could install the free WordPress software from WordPress.org. Then, you could map your domain there.

    The upgrades you’ve purchased are for use here on WordPress.com only; they don’t really apply to other hosting providers. If you do want to move, let me know – I can still cancel and refund your upgrade package as you bought it less than 30 days ago.

    Let me know if you have more questions about this, or if there’s a particular reason why you want to move. It might be possible you can do what you’re after here at WordPress.com. :)

    Awww I see well we have a hosted url and I have downloaded the software but am not sure of the next step.

    We would like to move to .org as we would like a more bespoke site and take full advantage of the plugins.

    Is it possible for you to check if we purchased the upgrade 30 days ago as we would probably need a refund for this?

    Thanks for your help :)

    Hey, Could you refund our upgrade cost as we are now building our site in .org.
    Sorry for the confusion.

    Can you please confirm this can be actioned?

    Thanks

    Hey Sorry, ignore that we are still thinking about it and would like to keep our upgrade on .com for now.

    Thanks

    Hi there – ok, I’ll leave everything as is for now. We can refund you within 30 days after purchase and you bought the upgrade on July 9, 2013, so just let us know if you change your mind before the 30 days are up, or if you need any help with your site here on .com! :)

    Hi – do you mean the gray border around your image? If so, this CSS will remove it:

    .entry-content img {
        border: none;
    }

    Hi there – you’ll need to update your domain’s name servers to point them here to WordPress.com as described here:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/#instructions-for-mapping-an-existing-domain

    #1352210

    Yes this is all done, do we now need to pay $13.00 to map the domain?

    Thanks for all your help.

    Hi there – nope, it’s included in your bundle cost and you’ve already added the mapping. But your name servers still are not pointed here. They’re pointed as follows:

    ns0.phase8.net, ns1.phase8.net, ns2.phase8.net

    Can you please check with your registrar again about this? Those need to be deleted and replaced with these:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

    #1352212

    Awww I see, now I have added the name servers :-

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM NS2.WORDPRESS.COM NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

    to the

    Primary nameserver*
    Secondary nameserver*
    Tertiary nameserver

    I am correct in thinking this should all now be sorted in 18-24 hours?

    Thanks

    Also do you think you could help me to change my wordpress URL please?

    Thank you

    I am seeing rsvpitalianevents.co.uk point correctly to your WordPress.com site.

    It can take 24-48 hours for domain/DNS changes to propagate throughout the internet. It typically happens faster than that, but it really depends on your ISPs update frequency. If you are still not seeing the correct site appear after 48 hours has elapsed, please contact me again.

    I am however still seeing that http://rsvpweddingsandevents.wordpress.com/ is showing as your primary domain. If you would like to change that so rsvpitalianevents.co.uk displays, log into your WordPress.com site’s dashboard and go to Store–>Domains and change it to be the primary.

    Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.

    Hey Sorry,

    Another question, my domain is currently .co.uk
    Do you think you could change it to .com for us?

    We have purchased this URL as well.

    Have you registered the rsvpitalianevents.com domain somewhere?

    Hello, we have it all sorted now thank you.

    How do we make the site so it is hidden till September?

    Thank you
