Hello there, I am trying to upload a WordPress template that I got off this site and when I do it says ‘The import archive contains one or more invalid files……..’. This file is a zip file. The company, acmethemes.com told me ‘If it’s not uploading then you can try another method.
Copy the zip file of the theme in your WordPress folder.
    For ex: Name of folder/wp-content/themes/
Paste the zip file of Fitness Hub over there and check it on your WordPress admin panel.’ but I honestly don’t know where they are talking about. I replied back to them 2 days ago and have yet to hear back. I asked them ‘Where exactly in my Word Press folder do I upload it???’. If you know what I need to do or have any suggestion, please help me. Thank you in advance!!! The file comes from acmethemes.com

The blog I need help with is extremepersonalfitness.wordpress.com.

    Hi there,

Uploading third party themes that you downloaded somewhere else on WordPress.com requires our Business Plan. You won’t be able to upload this theme on your free site.

Thank you!!!! Well no wonder it wouldn’t upload. Bahahahahaha!!! I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Have a blessed day!!! šŸ˜Š

I have another question please. I have never used WordPress before. I have only used Wix and I still have a Wix site. Does WordPress have the drag and drop feature??? How easy is it going to be for someone new to use WordPress?? I actually have a template that I want to upload and use and am just wondering if I will be able to easily use it without going bonkers lol… Would I be better off using another website that offers WordPress with the drag and drop feature??? (I just don’t know if I will be able to upload the template I want there).

    Hi there,

On WordPress.com the editor supports blocks that can help you create a post or page. Here’s how that works:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/

Also, if you upgrade to the Business plan, you’ll be able to install a page building plugin like Elementor that will allow you to design your whole site from the front-end.

Thank you so much!!! I am really pumped now!!! Are the plugins FREE to install?? And can I use a plugin even with a template that I have bought somewhere else and uploaded into Word Press?? Also too, how does that work with me transferring pages in from Wix to my new WordPress site??

The features, pricing, and details about our business plan can be found on this page: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

That price includes your access to us for 24/7 live chat support, your hosting, a domain for the first year, and all the features listed.

Plugins are free to install, yes.

On the business plan you can upload a theme from a third party as well.

Take a look at the steps to transfer your site from Wix to WordPress.com.

Thank you so much for your help!!! I had been looking at the Premium Plan for $8 a month. I would at least have to start there. My current budget says so too :) I just assume I can upgrade down the road if I choose to. Can I use plugins and upload other WordPress template on the Premium Plan?? There is a WordPress template I found that I like that I would have to upload to WordPress.

And I’m just assuming I can transfer in Wix pages on the Premium plan also. I’m a Personal Fitness Trainer and I also offer Weight Loss Coaching. Any purchases of products or services clients/customers can be redirected to another site or I would have sent them an invoice from Square.

    Absolutely!

Can I use plugins and upload other WordPress template on the Premium Plan??

No, unfortunately those take a lot more care on our end. But we do have lots of Premium themes that come with your plan, and several Premium features. If you’ll send a link to the template you found, maybe we can suggest something similar.

And Iā€™m just assuming I can transfer in Wix pages on the Premium plan also.

    Correct, here’s how:

About your coaching business, we have a Simple Payments option that would probably work fabulously for you, if you don’t mind using a different payment processor:

Right, on Premium plan you would not be able to use any third-party theme, like the one you mentioned. Instead, we offer hundreds of themes in our library:

    https://wordpress.com/themes/

On Business plan, however, you can upload any WordPress compatible theme.

So if I upload a template on Word Press, would I be able to use the Elementor drag and drop feature to create/design it?? If I uploaded a premade template how do I customize it??? (see the template : http://demo.acmethemes.com/fitness-hub/

    * I do like this theme from Elementor which I could use it to recreate a similar template (see this template here: https://library.elementor.com/gym-pricing/

What are the advantages of Word Press over me just signing up with Elementor.com?? (it appears to be much cheaper) One site is $49 a year and three sites is $99 a year. And 1000 sites (which could be helpful for landing pages) is only $199 a year.

What are the advantages of the Word Press Business Plan for $300 a year vs the Premium Plan for $96 a year??

So if I upload a template on Word Press, would I be able to use the Elementor drag and drop feature to create/design it??

On the Business Plan you’d be able to use any WordPress plugin or theme, including Elementor.

If I uploaded a premade template how do I customize it???

That would depend on the theme. Most themes have their own setup and customization instructions, written by the theme author. For example, you’ll find a support page for every theme we make that are listed at WordPress.com/themes.

What are the advantages of Word Press over me just signing up with Elementor.com??

Elementor is not a hosting provider, and is not a stand-alone product. It’s an add-on to the WordPress software, so you need a website built with WordPress in order to use Elementor, and that software needs to be hosted on a server somewhere. WordPress.com is one of many hosting providers for that software.

The cost per year you see on Elementor.com is just a licence for using their theme – Elementor is a premium product, so you need to buy a licence that renews annually in order to use that product on a WordPress site. That cost would be on top of any hosting fees you pay your hosting provider, not instead of.

What are the advantages of the Word Press Business Plan for $300 a year vs the Premium Plan for $96 a year??

For your purposes, the Business Plan allows you to install plugins and third party themes. Premium doesn’t.

Business also comes with 24/7 live chat support while premium only has live chat Monday to Friday, Business has more storage space, and Business gives you access to some advanced SEO tools. You can see a complete comparison between the plans if you click on My Site ->Plan.

I appreciate all of your responses and clarification. You guys/gals are AWESOME šŸ˜Š

So let’s suppose that I upload a premade template to Word Press from the website Acme Themes. So once I have it inside Word Press and need to customize it, do I drag and drop it like Elementor?? I like this theme but not at the expense of a headache. LOL!!!!

And I just assume that with ANY theme on Elementor I can change the color, style, fonts, etc. Right??? If yes then I should be able to just create a similar theme with Word Press.

    #3378045

Yes, you can do this through our Business plan which allows you to use plugins and a custom theme.

You will have to add it to your account before getting started on the project though.

    See here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

Our support team will be able to help you out along the way if there’s trouble. The plan is also refundable for 30 days.
