I can’t figure out how to uploads my theme to wordpress. I have an FTP program, but what where do I find out my Host address and port? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

The blog I need help with is bobbydaddis.wordpress.com.

If you are referring to the blog linked to your username, you can use any of the 100+ themes available in your Dashboard>Appearance>Themes. You cannot upload any other themes http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/ nor do we have FTP access to our sites here. http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/

So, in WordPress.org, you can use one of the thousands of free themes in the WordPress Theme Directory, but in WordPress.com you are limited to 101 choices (of pretty underwhelming stuff)?

That is correct. Themes used here have to be inspected and modified to work and support the features and restrictions on this multi-user platform. A theme from outside of wordpress.COM would not work properly here, and in some cases might not work here at all.

If you want your own theme from off the internet, self-host your own blog using the software from wordpress.ORG at a third-party hosting service such as godaddy, bluehost, etc. Figure an average total monthly cost of $10 to $25 depending on bandwidth and storage requirements.

You will be responsible for all installations, all upgrades, all backups and all troubleshooting. If you get hacked, or if you install a poorly written theme or plugin that kills your blog, you have to fix it.

Thanks, I understand the pros and cons better now.
