I’m trying to upload a .pic file that i made using powerpoint and graphic converter onto a post. I don’t want to upload just a picture, but something that i made using text and pictures. However, it won’t let me upload it because it says it does not meet the security requirements. Can somebody tell me what these security requirements are? It also doesn’t say what the maximum size is for uploaded files. Does anyone know?
Only graphic files are currently allowed. You can see other threads covering this here.
I’ve been having problem uploading images since late last night. Once I hit the upload button, I get the message I pasted below. Are there some settings on my end that I need to fix? My blog has been on WordPress for a week or so but until now, I had no problem uploading images. Thanks for your help.
“The connection was rest. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web”
I’ve had the same problem with my new blog. I can upload images easily on an existing blog, but haven’t be able to do this on my new one. I get the same message (connection reset, etc.).
Would help if you told us what browser you’re using, what size fo the photo is that you are trying to upload, etc. :)
203kb jpeg file with numbers and an underline in the original filename, but no problems uploading it on my other blog. Using Firefox for both attempts.
Some other people have reported an issue with firefox recently in other threads as well. Not sure what is occuring with it but I’m gathering myself that there’s an issue. I’d just go ahead and send in a feedback. it might be something on the backend.
It just worked. Using Firefox and w/ same filename. Who knows? I’ll hold off on a feedback yet and keep an eye out for other issues. Thanks!
I’ve been able to post my images now (using Firefox). I reduced their resolution and that seemed to help a lot. A couple of times I did get that reset message again, but it didn’t happen as frequently. Oh I did try it once in Safari before going back to firefox and reducing the image res. I got the same reset message in Safari. I’m working on a Mac, so maybe that has something to do with it?
Either way, thanks for the information.
I’m having the same problems in both FF and IE. It’s very intermittent (fails 9 times out of 10), but just stays white until I move away, then the upload iframe changes to an “action cancel page”. Whenever this happens, the image hasn’t been uploaded. It works now and then with the same images, so it’s nothing to do with the image (they’re all tiny jpgs from my camera phone)
I am also having this same problem and it has been going on for several days. over the past week i have only been successful in uploading one picture out of the many times i have tried. i am using FF browser. every single time i get the message that says the connection has been reset. a refresh of the page only makes the editor disappear all together. i can start over with a new post just for fun, but the same thing happens again…..
And you tried the solution listed up above?
Same problem here. It’s driving me absolutely crazy. By now, my neibors probably think I’m a lunatic for screaming at my computer.
I hope this gets fixed.
Brent, there are a number of problems discussed here with uploading images. We can’t help you if you don’t state what problem you are having. :)
I have been trying to upload small jpgs for my photo blog which I wish were a daily blog, but I have trouble so often and switch between firefox and internet explorer. I get different responses, sometimes just the name of the photo uploads. I love having the blog and I know you guys are working on it. Is there a difference if it’s a slow time of day? Is there ever a slow time? Some images never show up as anything but their titles, and then its messages like “The connection was reset” or nothing at all happens…..
Have you tried using thumbnails too?
Dreamscape, stop using spaces, periods and weird characters and marks within your file names. It’s that simple. Do a right click on your pictures and see what WordPress is having to do with your filenames to make them usable. :)
Those characters are not useable within a URL. Letters and numbers only.
FAQ as well.
Hope this helps,
