User domain url
Hi! I’m sorry I’m just trying to get used to wordpress and having a great time, but I would like to change my url domain and I’m not sure how to do so. I saw the upgrade feature to change it, however I don’t want to change the entire url. I just want it to change the _____.wordpress.com (blank) part that I made when I first started my blog and no longer fits with my theme. Does that make sense? I need a wordpress for idiots book!! Thank you!
The blog I need help with is boombloomlyon.wordpress.com.
You must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account in order to change the blog’s URL. Then you can use this guide http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/
That option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again.
If you want to redirect traffic to the new blog, and retain and page rank the blog has or authority your have gained in the niche then you can keep the address and purchase the Site Redirect upgrade.
However, as there are several threads that indicate there is something amiss with the changing blog URLs process tagged for Staff attention I have tagged this thread for their attention too.
You need to click on the “My Blogs” that is under the WordPress logo drop-down menu in the upper left hand corner of your dashboard. You need to click on the “My Blogs” link under the “Dashboard” drop-down menu instead.
Does that make sense?
