users management-assign username and password

I’ve created a private blog, but found the process of new user registration is too tedious (somehow painful for non-wordpress user).

Is there any user management feature which allows me, as an admin, to assign usernames and passwords, and to add the newly assigned users into my private blog, all within my own control?

My blog is a company blog, the community consists of agents/partners/distributors from different countries. Some of them are not really web savvy(that’s why I’ll need to have the user management feature, I’ll only need to feed them with username + passwords + url of the blog)

    Please advice.

As you likely know, assigning a new user requires the use of a unique email address in the set-up process. You can create “alias” email addresses (using Yahoo! or AOL, your option) under you control and sent an “invite” to those email accounts. You can then create a WordPress username and password for each account and then provide only the username, password and URL to your colleagues.
