User's not getting email -- reg

  1. Hello,

    I am owner of
    I invited my friends [email redacted] and [email redacted] via email today.
    They aren't getting the invitation mails. Why??

    I sent mail to them directly from my gmail. They are able to receive. They sent mail to me from their server. No problem at that end too.

    But not receiving email invitation?? Invitation is not there in their junk folder also. Why??

    Can someone check, if wordpress has black listed this domain??


  4. The emails were sent correctly, though it is possible that the email provider has blacklisted us. I'd recommend checking with them.

    thank you for your reply.

    we have raised a ticket with the people who provided the domain. They claim nothing wrong at their end and say, something might have gone wrong at the end of WordPress. Here is the extract of what they sent me:

    I have checked the logs and could see that connections from "" is not reaching our server when we are subscribing to the WordPress post.

    On checking the logs further, I could locate the error message "Host or domain name not found. Name service error for type=MX: Host not found, try again". Please verify:

    It seems to be some issue with the mail service of Please contact the concerned support team and check the logs. As the connections are not reaching the VPS, we cannot get logs.

    Also, to check the email service, I sent a test mail from our Gmail account to "[email redacted]" and the mail delivered successfully. Please verify:

    I suggest you check with the concerned support team to check whether they have blocked the domain at their end. Also, investigating the logs at their end will help us to identify the root cause of the issue. In case if they receive any bounce back message, please update us so that we can check further.

  6. Ha, that's because they're looking for email connections from, not ;)

    Well, at this point I'd suggest re-sending the invitations from Users -> Invite New in you're Dashboard. It's worth a shot.

    I tried sending the invitations again. No use. The mail didn't even reach the server.

    The users on this server, are subscribed to some of the wordpress blogs. Not one of them got email posts when these blogs are updated.

    Kindly look into it.


  8. We're looking into it, but our end shows that the emails were delivered, so I'm not sure what more we can do.

  9. Above my pay-grade - but could there be some sort of anti-spam thing that is grabbing any related email and trashing it? Seems there has been things like that in the past at companies - don't know if the filter would be ahead of the server they are looking at or not.

    But emails have been an issue over time since there are something like 38,000,000 blogs that all use the same basic email address.

    And the OP said that some friends were not getting emails from other WordPress.COM blogs they had subscribed to.

    Have you tried forwarding an email from a blog subscription to your friends? That would leave only the filter on the content not the address to be looked at

    Will it be possible that you give us a snippet from your log files, which shoes that mail has been delivered from your address to my addresss? ([email redacted])??

    the support team, at our end are of no help.
