Users not getting notified.

    My users are not getting an email notification when I put up a new post.

    The blog I need help with is debbieahlers.wordpress.com.

    Please provide a couple of usernames of the WordPress.com members who did not receive notification of your post. Please also provide a couple of email addresses of subscribers who are not WordPress.com members knowing that the software here will redact (HIDE) the email addresses and only Staff will be able to see them. I’ll tag this thread for Staff to examine what’s going on. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

    One email address is not much for Staff to work with. Know that as much information as possible will be helpful.

    I realize but they could start with that. I get to know if it’s working as it’s my husband’s. I did find a setting about email notification that was not checked, which I now have checked, so next time a post something, I’ll see if that was the issue. Thanks again.

    If he didn’t receive it, please ask him to check his spam folder.

    I’ve added myself as a follower so please let me know when you add another post and I can see if I receive the notification. And if you know of other users who are not receiving email notifications from us, please let me know.

    Just put up a new post, “A Memorable Day in Sonoma”, and he did not get notified. Did you???

    @debbieahlers,

    Yes, I did indeed receive an email notification of your post, yesterday at 4:14PM CDT. Your husband may wish to try a different email address to see if that works, and should double-check his spam folders/filters to make sure it hasn’t ended up in the wrong place.

    @squeakytina, can you post email addresses of people who are not receiving notifications? Also debbieahlers, if you know of others, can you post those as well?

    I know that these people were not notified on friday when I posted “Coastline’s ABI Program” on friday. I don’t know about the others followers, I didn’t speak to them personally.

    Hi squeakytina,

    Of the three email addresses you listed at the top as not receiving notifications, everything looks fine for two of them, and they should be receiving notifications and they should check their spam filters.

    The first email address might need to be reset. To do this, I would remove them and then they can resubscribe. Please let me know if you’d like to try that.

    One other thing to do is ask users on gmail if they checked the new “Social” tab, as that’s a new Gmail feature and WordPress.com emails tend to get filtered into that tab now.

    I just posted a new entry. And my sister did not get an email. In fact she didn’t get notices for any one of my updates. This makes me wonder about other followers.

    I have just subscribed to your blog via email. Please let me know the next time you post, and I’ll check my notifications.

    As for your sister, I see an email notification went out to (email redacted) on: 2013-08-16 18:30:09.

    Please ask her to check her spam filter and her gmail tabs, particularly the “Social” tab, as often WordPress.com emails end up in those places.

    I checked with my sister, her email (email redacted) did not receive anything from “wordpress” or anything that mentions “reviewsbysqueaky” which is my blog title. I had her check the “social” and “promotions” tabs as well as her spam folder.

    The next scheduled update to my blog is midnight tonight.
