Using Spun Theme As A Website
First post here.
Just started using wordpress.
I am hoping to find a guidance of what I intend to do.
I usually create simple sites.
I adore the spun theme and imeddiately wanted to make a personal site with it.
I want to create a blank site (not a blog) with nothing but only the circles.
I want 12 circles to show up on the main page and want the circles to be the menu.
I mean, normally each circle will open a post, but I want to use these posts as a page, including texts and soundcloud links.
Is it possible to remove everything accept the circles and the posts they are linked to?
We cannot create our own themes here at WordPress.com. The detailed theme description for Spun that states how it’s designed to function is here http://en.wordpress.com/themes/spun/ and the live demo site is here http://spundemo.wordpress.com/
To be clear, a blog is a website. A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication. As the posts are frequently updated and appear on the front page of the site it’s very attractive to search engines.
What most people call a website is merely a page based site that functions as a one way noticeboard. As the structure is page based and as pages are for static content that rarely changes, and as pages do not have RSS feeds it is not as attractive to search engines as a post based blog structured site is.
Any WordPress blog can be restructured from being post based to being page based – no upgrade required. For greater clarity read > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/
