I’m having trouble with the quality of thumbnail images for videos I have inserted into a page using the videopress upgrade. The quality of the video playback itself is fine, but the preview thumbnail image appears pixelated/lower resolution. Is there any way I can improve the quality of the thumbnails? I’ve searched support and forums for clues but have found nothing so far. It’s worth stating that the thumbnails look ok on ipad, but not on larger format screens.
I have also requested wordpress look into this a while ago. They said at the time that they were aware of the issue and would work on a fix. That has obviously not happened, and I would like to know if we can do anything to minimise the pixilation, e.g. upload the videos in a different format? The demo on http://videopress.com/ does not have this pixilation.
I’ve not experimented with different video formats as the video quality itself is fine. Let me know if you have any luck. You’d think if the video quality is OK then you’d be able to generate a similar quality preview image, but that is not currently the case. I hope WordPress looks into addressing this soon.
