want to keep my title but delete that site

  1. if I delete my site can I reuse the same name for a new one?
I accidentally deleted my front home page a few months ago and just realized it. Can I delete that site and start a new one using the same site name I have now?

No. It's unfortunate that you deleted the blog by using these instructions that include 3 warnings and require clicking a verification link in an email. The warnings and verification email state that deleted blog URLs are not recycled.

You can register another blog with a similar name.

Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying address is.

Blogs that have been deleted by the owner will remain deleted. We cannot, under any circumstances, allow someone to take over a blog name that was previously owned and deleted by its original/previous owner. Please do not submit support requests asking us to do this.

  4. Thank you. I didn't think so but thought I'd ask.

I can see my blog posts, but the 'page' (ie. front/home) tab isn't there. Obviously the page is 'somewhere' but how do I find it? I checked the pages visible, and none are in the blog format with date and blog title on the page while the page name should be seen as a tab. I'm at a loss as to what support service to even start with. Does this mean I didn't delete the front page since blog updates still come to my email?

  5. I wasn't asking for the page title to be recycled, btw- just if that was possible. Thanks for the quick response.

What is the URL starting with http:// please?

Sorry, I logged out of that site for a while. This is still Okiewriter.

  9. If you sign in under the name of the person who created that blog, ie the right username, you should be able to control it.

  10. calisarhosewrites

I was when working on it. I just now signed out to work on my personal blog.

  11. Okay, if you just want to reserve it, set it to Private under Settings. Then you can empty the contents at leisure and put in whatever you want before opening it up. Don't delete it!

  12. calisarhosewrites

I don't really want or need to reserve it. I need to locate my front/home page. Thanks.

  13. I think I figured it out. Thank you both.
