We use WordPress to create/maintain our website, but it continues to shut down.
In October we used WordPress to create and maintain our agency’s new website (YLLC.org). However, since then, we have experienced several occurrences of our site completely shutting down. Our web domain, iPower, say that there is nothing they can do on their end, since their job is simply to host the website. Occasionally there will be a message, but right now it is just a blank white screen. Why does our site keep shutting down and what can we do using WordPress to change the situation if iPower says they cannot fix the problem? We need to fix this problem immediately, as this is our agency’s website and information to us will not be accessible. Please email (email redacted) or post below. Thanks!
The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.
This site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/

Are you sure that we are using wordpress.org? I am not able to login to wordpress.org nor do I have any information on a login or password. Even our test page is at a “.com” address. I am almost 100% certain we are using WordPress.com for both our blog and our website, as it is the site I login to in order to do any maintenance. Also, the URL for our blog, for example, is yllc.wordpress.com. Although we use WordPress.com for both our blog and our website, we have different usernames and passwords for them. Our site is still down, and we really need this to be fixed.
If anyone has any suggestions, etc. on what the issue might be and/or how we may rectify the issue, please reply or email me at info [at] yllc [dot] org as soon as possible.
yllc.wordpress.com is hosted on WordPress.COM and loads fine for me
YLLC.org is not hosted on WordPress.COM – a whois shows your name servers might be set wrong (two different domains)
WordPress.ORG is the keeper of the WordPress software and has nothing to do with your web site and has a different log-in than here or your web site.
Yes, our blog does work. It is our website that uses a different login and password that does not work. I’m not sure that I understand. How should I go about asking questions on the WordPress.org forum if I don’t have a login for WordPress.org? Do I just create a separate WordPress.org account so that I may login and participate in the forum on there instead?
I don’t understand what you mean by this statement in particular. Would you mind rephrasing? “YLLC.org is not hosted on WordPress.COM – a whois shows your name servers might be set wrong (two different domains)”
yes – just open an account at WordPress.ORG help forums – free
Your name servers show two different domains – I have never seen that before – I would post a link to a whois query but when I do that my help gets put in the spam folder for hours.
ns1 . ipowerdns. com
ns1 . ipowerweb. net
I tried to break up the name servers with spaces to get around the filter – but I have always seen all the name servers point to the same domain name – you should ask your host about that –
