Web address show, but can't craft page without signing up for "another" blog.
I created an address for my blog a long time ago. I’m finally ready to get started, but though in “settings” my address appears as I want it, if I click “new post”, I get a message that says I don’t have a blog and do I want to create one? Then I get sent to a sign up pg. that states I can “create a second blog” but won’t let me use the address that appears in my settings, as it is already taken (which it is……..by me)! In short, please help me to create a page using my existing and current address. I don’t presently want a second blog; I simply wish to use the blog address I already possess.
Thanks for any advice you might have for me!
I created an address for my blog a long time ago
What is it?
wendyedits.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this blog.
Yes, I know, which is maddening, because the address still shows up in my settings as my URL. When I try to type the address into the registration form (thinking if it has been deleted, then it’s open for grabs again), I am met with the message that the address has already been taken. It’s such a frustrating loop.
(thinking if it has been deleted, then it’s open for grabs again),
I’m sorry but reclaiming a deleted blog URL is not possible. It takes surpassing 3 warnings that blog deletion is irreversible and clicking a confirmation link in an email to delete a blog for good reason ie. deleted blog URLs are not recycled.
You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
Thank you for this clarification. I deleted my old proto-blog so long ago that I thought I could just hop onto my old address again. I see now why that’ll be impossible. Thanks again!
I’m glad I cleared that up for you. You’re welcome.
