Webhooks not working
As far as I can tell, I’ve set webhooks up correctly. I’ve tested the URL I’m having it call from several different machines and the page is working correctly.
However, the page is NOT being called by WordPress when a post or a comment is being published. I can verify this because the URL is writing text to a file every time the page is called. It is never getting called from WordPress on either post.
Is there something else I need to do other than set up a webhook and designate the fields I want to see? Some switch somewhere that needs to be thrown?
Are there other better options to webhooks?
The blog I need help with is payrollmasters.wordpress.com.
I have the same problem.
I can’t find any way to verify that the hook is actually firing when I publish a post. How are we supposed to know it’s working? Any logging anywhere or anything?
Glad to hear that someone else has the same issue. Hopefully someone will be kind enough to respond.
Failing that, do you know of any support resources that could definitely answer this?
This is for a client and they’d be happy to pay for the time if it can be made to work.
These are the instructions for WordPress.com blog webhooks. I can tell you from experience that it takes days for them to actually work once they’re in place, no idea why.
Thanks for replying. I originally used that link to set up the webhooks. It’s a pretty minimal setup. I’ve waited several days and just tried posting again. Nothing came in. Again, I’ve tested the asp page from different places. It will write to file any time it is called – apparently it never gets called when I post to WordPress.
Is there a setting I’m missing somewhere? Also, does anybody know if there’s a phone number I can call to talk to somebody about this? I can screenshare with them to show them my dashboard – whatever’s needed.

Same here. The webhook page works like a charm but the Web Hooks just don’t get triggered. What to do?
