Website not showing correctly for a user
Hi there. Have recently finished working on a website for a group and one of the users has written to me saying they can’t view it correctly on firefox windows (v25.0.1) or IE. Difficult to explain without posting a picture. But he has a bunch of empty bullet points, then the header image, then the website text below but not in the correct font. Cookies is switched on. Can anyone advise what might be wrong?
The blog I need help with is javacardforum.com.
Can you get the user to post a screenshot somewhere?
Here are some screenshot instructions if you are not familiar with the process:
I find http://snag.gy/ to be very useful for sharing screenshots. You can also upload the screenshot to your site’s media library. I will be able to see it there.
Hi there – can’t believe I didn’t think of that! Thanks for the tip. Here is the screenshot:
Well I’m not sure what to say about that. The site sure is loading incorrectly. It looks like maybe a CSS stylesheet isn’t loading somehow? I guess a shift-refresh to clear the cache might be my first suggestion. But if it is happening on two different browsers, that might not be the issue.
You could ask your reader if this happens on other computers that are on the same network. That could narrow it down to a specific browser/computer problem or indicate if it is a larger network issue of some sort.
Hello again – well i asked the question, and I’m happy to report that in his reply he can now see the site properly…who knows why it’s fixed itself, but am just relieved that there is no longer a problem. Thanks so much for trying to help :-) Have a great weekend…..
Great to hear!
