What can I do with my categories?

My categories are both not showing up, and not updating correctly. I want to keep my URL, but part of me wants to start from scratch. None of your help pages are proving to be useful.

We frequently get blogger here who set up Categories in advance of creating posts and assigning categories to them. Categories do not display until there is a published post in them. Does that help?
