What does this blog cost? How do I assume payment responsibility?
I have just had this blog transferred to me. I do not know the terms of billing and want to be sure that the responsibility of payment has transferred as well. Can you advise?
The blog I need help with is civicagriculture.wordpress.com.
It doesn’t appear to have any upgrades at all. Can you see anything under the dashboard Store page?
Unfortunately, just as I was afraid of has happened. Even though I see no instructions for changing payment responsibility, WordPress has just billed the person who transferred the blog to me. This is either a coincidence or it was triggered by the transfer. Clearly she should not be billed, as she no longer has any connection to this blog. How do I fix this?
What did they get billed for?
Despite her efforts to transfer ‘ownership’ -as it were- to me, she was auto-billed to what appears to be an upgrade. Frankly when she transferred the blog to me I expected to be presented with options and asked for credit card info etc. which would allow me know what costs what and what I’m in for. Unfortunately she was billed for another year. Here is the correspondence that she just received. Looks like really bad timing in that I was unable to sort it out before her billing was activated. Thoughts?
The following WordPress.com upgrade was purchased or renewed successfully:

I’ve flagged this thread for staff attention. That’s all we can do at this point. This is an ongoing problem.

Hi there, I’m very sorry about this. Blog ownership and ownership of upgrades are treated as separate things in our system, so that someone can own a blog but an upgrade can be paid for by a different user.
Could you please have the upgrade owner log in and post a message in this thread, giving us permission for any upgrades on the account to be transferred to you?
If you like, we could also send you an invoice for the bundle so you can pay for it, and then issue a refund to the original upgrade owner.
Hello this is the original owner. If possible could I please get a refund on the automatic upgrade that was deducted from my credit card after the blog was transferred to the new owner?
Hi wildpotatobean – I would be glad to issue a refund. In order to do that, I’ll need to remove the Value Bundle upgrade from the site. Is it OK if I go ahead and do that? hkeeler will be able to re-purchase a new Value Bundle afterwards.
Otherwise, I could invoice hkeeler for a new Value Bundle first, and once I receive payment, I would just transfer ownership of the Value Bundle upgrade to them.

I’ve removed the Value Bundle upgrade and issued a $99 refund. It can take 1-2 weeks for a refund to be reflected on your account.
hkeeler can re-purchase a new Value Bundle anytime, under Store.
