What has WordPress done with my Dashboard?
My Dashboard has changed beyond recognition and there is a man’s picture up on the right side in the bar at the top, it’s not my Gravatar (and I’m female anyway!). What has happened?
The blog I need help with is fromwales.wordpress.com.
This is a link to a screen shot. As you can see that Gravatar is not mine [screenshot removed]
Go to your email program and change the password to a very difficult one because that’s how many hackers gain access to blogs
Read > http://en.support.wordpress.com/security/
1. If you can log-in go here > Users > All Users and delete any user that does not belong there.
2. Disable post by email > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-email/
3. Disable post by voice > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-voice/
4. Change your blog password to a very difficult one > http://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#change-your-password
5. Use a secure, encrypted connection to connect to your Dashboard. Under Users → Personal Settings, check the box that says “Always use HTTPS when visiting administration pages, and click Save Changes.

FYI-That’s Matt Thomas’ (iammattt) gravatar. He works for Automattic, the people that bring you WordPress.com, and I have no idea why his gravatar should show up in your Admin bar, which regrettably at the moment does not return you to the top of the page when clicked.
I’m thinking about what you said here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/whos-photo-is-this?replies=5#post-1094333
Ohhhh I see. But I’d have no idea who he is, it’s just not my Gravatar. I had a feeling it was changes being made though as now it’s impossible to find my own Dashboard, or to view my blog, as it’s disappeared from the drop down.
@tt-I was just going through my Reader and grinding my teeth, so patience preached is not necessarily patience practiced. :)
@fromwales, you should still be able to hover over the gravatar and see “Manage My Blogs” in the dropdown. That will bring you to the WordPress.com front page where your visible sites are listed. There you’ll see a link to the Dashboard. But then again, maybe give it 10 minutes and try again. :D
Sorry for the confusion. This glitch should now be resolved.
Thanks justjennifer, it was exactly where you said it was!! But that’s an extra click now, so not a great ‘improvement’ on things. Oh well, such is life.
@kathrynwp thank you, yes my own Gravatar is back again. Gave me a scare though to see a man where I should have been! Thanks everyone.
Just to be clear, the Gravatar glitch was on our end, it wasn’t anything you did. :-)
If you need anything else, just let us know.
Thank you, it makes a change that it wasn’t my fault! I removed the screen shot from my library as I don’t want it indexed by search engines, and have people constantly clicking on it, so is it possible to have the attachment link removed from this thread? Please.
No problem, I’ve removed the link to your screenshot and will now close this thread.
Thanks for reporting the glitch and please feel free to start a new thread if you spot anything else.
