What info do I put into search engines verification?
Hi, I want to show my site to the three search engines google mentioned as well as ask.com. I have read how to do this already in the forums but when it says enter meta information I have nothing like that on my site. I do have a heading ‘meta’ but it has links to the rss feed and comments etc and nothing that looks like what was shown in the search engine optimisation post. I have not added any meta tags manually, no clue how and have no idea about html.
Also is my site verified with WP as it’s already published or do I have to go through another process, what are the advantages to this?
Complete beginner! Please take pity and help.
Thanks very much.
The blog I need help with is freeproducts4you.wordpress.com.
Let’s start with you reading the following before proceeding. In a nutshell no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.COM blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM
The advertising exceptions noted in support documentation are for high traffic blogs that qualify for and are accepted into the Ad Control program, and for extremely high traffic blogs that qualify and are accepted into the paid VIP hosting program.

Now to answer your question. WordPress.com is a multi-user blogging platform and on it we cannot access meta-data at all. We cannot we edit themes or templates like WordPress.ORG bloggers with self hosted sites can.
WordPress.com vs WordPress.org: The Differences
