Where are the mods? Are they on strike?
Came here to offer my assistance on the forums and all I see is a string of spam from India. Are you all on a lunch break? On strike? Helloooooo?
And your posts aren’t helping. Send it into support. That’s the fastest and easiest way to deal with it.
Anthony responded my email about 15 minutes ago. Honestly, their just not paying attention to the forum-spam-annoyance.
Yeah, so what is the use of the forums if the forums aren’t being watched over? Open invitation to spammers, I’d say. Let’s see a tighter ship around her and we won’t get this happening much more often.
Um, just how much are you paying these mods? Seriously, dude. Chill. All of the posts are gone now.
What’s it to you. The mods will find out, and delete it. It happens every day just about.
There most likely paying attention. They have been busy
coding the new dashboard codename “CrazyHorse” that will
be released later this year when they upgrade to version 2.7.
In the past they have quietly removed the spam threads
be patient. :)
Um, maybe because they were tagged with that tag we should use to mark spam threads. The Mods do pick up on the RSS feed and it took less than 1/2 hour for the threads to disappear. That’s pretty good in my books.
We apologize for the delay. The posts were 15 minutes old; they are now all gone, and the user is blocked for all of eternity. Again, I apologize. I received vp’s message and immediately removed all such posts. The issue has been resolved.
I come here mot every day and never have I seen such a spam onslaught. Sorry if I offended anybody, but seriously, there has to be a better way of setting up these forums if they can be so easily hijacked.
In any event – please, don’t take it personally – I’m working for the common good like everyone.
No offense taken. :)
@ian-believe me, it’s happened before. Just keep marking the thread with that tag, they’ll get here.
Cool. I guess it’s a sign of success in a way. The bigger you get, the more flies you attract.
We do pay attention to forum spam. You don’t often see it because we usually catch it within a few minutes.
Yes it happens more often than I’d like. But I just shoot the info to support and they respond right away.
(I’ve been on forums like these for years, even moderated a number of them. There’s not a whole lot that can be done to cut out the spam.)
