Where did my Schedule Option Go?

  1. I used to be able to schedule posts days ahead of time but when I tried to do it for today, January 1, 2013. I figured it must be a glitch because it was the new year so I tried to do it today to post for tonight.

There was no 'schedule' button as there usually is. I edited the date so it was for 23:00. The only button available was 'publish' so I clicked that. It showed as it usually does when I publish something and yet it doesn't show up.

I tried to find it as a scheduled post but that doesn't show anything.

Is this a wordpress issue? I'd sure hate to lose the scheduling option.

    Any help gratefully accepted!

The blog I need help with is

  2. Can you locate the missing post here?
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts
If so you can edit it and publish it.

  3. hi,
    Thanks for the quick reply!

No, unfortunately, I can not find it under all posts. The only way I can find it if I look under search.

So I guess it will show at 23:00.

It seems odd that I have this problem coincidentally on Jan 1st of the new year.

  4. Note: Scheduled posts are currently only triggered to publish when the first person visits the blog after the scheduled time. For now, think of it as "schedule after this time."

  5. hi,
So do you mean is that wordpress has scrapped the scheduled posts button that they had before today?
What if nobody visits the blog after the scheduled time?
I liked to have it post at a certain time every night. Does this mean I can't do this anymore?
I'm not sure I understand the logic behind this.

  6. No as far a as I know nothing has changed with scheduling posts.

  7. Day after the post was scheduled and posted and yet it doesn't show up anywhere.

it's very odd. I can't find it under all published or drafts or anywhere.

And yet it did show published and when I clicked view your post, I could see it there.

  8. Oops!
    Figured it out.
When I scheduled it, I didn't make it 2013 so it was showing in the Jan 2012 archives.
    Thanks for your help!

  9. It's good to know you worked through this. You're welcome.
