Where to download the “Post by email” plugin?

I really like WordPress.com’s http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-email/ feature. I have my blog hosted in my own server, running the latest WordPress. I would like to add this feature to my blog, but couldn’t find how you did it. I just found the default post by email feature, which is really crude, compared to WordPress.com’s.

So, is it available for download?

This is a peer support forum. WordPress.com blogs don’t have FTP access or plugins. If you want an answer then posting here is not likely to produce one. Check here > http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ and if there is no plugin there and no news of one here http://iphone.forums.wordpress.org/ then I suggest you ask wordpress.COM Staff directly http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

WP did not create, a plugin to do this on self-hosted blogs – at least as far as I can see. There is one called “postmaster” over at wordpress.ORG under extend/plugins. You can search for it. It does require you to jump through some hoops and you need to modify some underlying core wordpress files.

Also, that plugin has not been updated in a while so there isn’t any assurance that it will work with the latest version of wordpress.

    Proceed at your own risk.

A core WordPress plugin of Post by Email will be released in the future.
