Who owns [name].wordpress.com?

    I am helping a youth sports organization with their web presence (Los Gatos NJB). A few years ago the WordPress site losgatosnjb.wordpress.com was created and subsequently abandoned. Problem is that the site is “live” and is currently the #1 search result on Google for our organization. This is confusing to parents because the information on the site is out of date.

    We’d like to have this taken down, but need to figure out who the administrator is. Any pointers would be appreciated (spent a bit of time on forums and support areas, but came up empty…)

    Hi Jacob,

    I know this isn’t the way you were initially approaching the problem, but I think you might have better luck asking the people listed on the old site’s board of directors page (http://losgatosnjb.wordpress.com/our-board/) if any of them remember who set up the site to begin with.

    Once the administrator of the existing site is identified, we can help you get the site shut down, but without proof of site ownership, Happiness Engineers can’t provide any information–including the name and e-mail address of a site’s administrator. This is a security measure.

    also try leaving a comment on the blog – if comments are set to Moderate – an email will be sent to the blog owner
