Why are emails coming from wordpress.com and not my domain ?

  • Hi

All of a sudden, all emails that are being sent to my followers are coming from wordpress.com instead of my domain, beer and croissants.

    Any ideas on why ?

    thanks
    Kerri

The blog I need help with is beerandcroissants.com.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Did you recently add (email visible only to moderators and staff) to your email address book? If so that can cause unexpected behavior in the “from” line in your email. The good news if that’s what has happened, it it’s only impacting you. Your users see your email the same way it was before.

It that’s not what happened could you add a screenshot of the new email and one of the old ones to your media library so I can take a closer look?

Here’s how you make a screenshot

  • Hi, thanks for your reply. It’s not emails coming into my inbox, but that of blog followers who are getting an email to update them on a recent post. I don’t have any earlier ones unfortunately. Copy of current in my media library.

  • Thanks for the image.

It’s not emails coming into my inbox, but that of blog followers who are getting an email to update them on a recent post.

Are you getting multiple reports of this, or just from one or two users? If one of your readers added (email visible only to moderators and staff) to their email address book the behavior would be the same.

  • Hi Liz, no they do not have it in their email address book. ????

  • I see what has happened. Your Site Title settings are blank. That would also cause this problem.

    To fix this,

Open your cusomizer (Click “my sites” from the black bar at the top of your site) then click “Site Title, Tagline, and Logo” What ever you put in the site title box will show as the sender of future emails.

If you don’t want the site title to also appear on your site, uncheck the “Display Header Text” box.

  • Ah, thank you, now that makes sense why it has stopped all of a sudden. When I first set up the blog I used this. Then once I had my custom header logo designed I took it off, not knowing this was linked to the emails. Thank you so much for sticking with this problem and helping me out. Greatly appreciated.

  • It was my pleasure. I’m glad we were able to solve the mystery!
