Why are my flickr photos not showing up blog posts?
My flickr photos are not embedding properly – I’ve been doing the same thing for a while and all of a sudden it stopped working.
You can check out the first post, the pictures appear as links not pictures. But only on the “Coachella” post – it’s worked correctly for all the others.
Blog url: http://laliadverts.wordpress.com/
The blog I need help with is laliadverts.wordpress.com.
Those links you have are to the page that the photo is on, not the actual photo. You need the link to the actual photo, which will end in a .jpg or .png or .gif .
I don’t do flickr, so I don’t know how to tell you to get the actual image URL from flickr. They seem to have made that very difficult.
tsp-If they’ve been using the WordPress auto-embed feature, up until now all they needed was the URL of the page on flickr. Apparently something’s changed at this end.
Flickr has not made anything difficult, you can still get the HTML embed code for each flickr image under Sharing on the flickr page, as long as the flickr member has enabled it.
On second look, @laliadverts auto-embed will only work if the address of the flickr image is on its own line and is not a link.
If you look at this post http://laliadverts.wordpress.com/2012/05/22/this-year-coachella-had-both-la-and-li/ you can see that is not how they were inserted. Make sure that the address of the image is on its own line without anything else (like content text or code), and remove the link by using the “unlink” button in the Visual Editor.
Hey! So it’s still not working – wordpress doesn’t allow “embed” codes, it just shows up as the actual text. I’m not sure if wordpress changed or if flickr changed, but the images no longer have “jpg” on the end of them…
